Burritos and Bowling

Since the beginning of Pat's program here in Germany we've been having "cultural dinners" with his coworkers. It's quite a diverse group with 21 people from all over the world. Each week someone from the group is in charge of organizing a dinner from their country or ethnicity. We've had just about everything from Brazilian to Thai, Cuban to Chinese, Indonesian to Peruvian, Russian and American (we had ribs at Tony Roma's).

This week the guy in charge is Belgium and his wife is from Mexico. They have traveled just about everywhere in the world and now they live in NYC. Because of their multi-cultural backgrounds, they could pick just about anything for the cultural dinner, but they decided on California-style burritos from Dolores. They were so good and reminded me of our last dinner in California. The night before we left we decided a giant burrito was the one thing we wanted before going to Germany. Little did we know that we would be able to get something comparable here in Berlin just around the corner from us.

Here are a couple shots of the group at Dolores.
Since this was a very inexpensive cultural dinner, we decided to go bowling afterwards. Patrick and I almost didn't go because we didn't know how Cooper would do at the bowling hour at such a late hour. To our surprise, he did great. He was absolutely mesmerized by the balls going down the lanes and coming out of the ball return.

He did not move from this location for the entire 1.5 hours that we were bowling.
By the end of the night he was totally ready to throw a 14 pounder down the lane.
It was so funny to watch him! He would burst out with a spontaneous "WHOOOOOOOAAAAAA!!!" every couple of minutes. It was cracking us, and just about everyone else up the whole night. This video just doesn't do it justice, but it's a pretty good taste of what we heard all evening.
